It's all about the history and the life now...The Path has been devoted to textile since the Middle-ages...Thousands of immigrants settled there, Jewish, Chinese, Armenian, Turkish, Pakistani...Their work was difficult, low-paid but they were so poor, they had nothing to loose and they could manage to send money to their families abroad...The book is full of portaits, stories funny , sad or crual...
I remember walking in this area early in the morning , when I used to go and buy fabrics with some friends who had a shop...the men carrying heavy loads of fabrics, the hundreds of clothes ready to go to the shops...there were small Chinese restaurant with such nice jasmine tea and yummy rice with shrimps...I don't know how long it will stay that way...
